Friday Harbor Film Festival 2016
The documentaries featured in the Friday Harbor Film Festival focus specifically on the Pacific Ocean and its Rim. Film subjects include island cultures, environmental issues, marine ecology, great adventures, and personal stories of individuals. This year’s schedule has been set and the venues are secured. On Friday, Nov. 6 at the Friday Harbor House or Saturday Nov. 7 at The Earthbox, you can see A Man with Stones, Night Ship, Threads, and The Mural for a total of 102 minutes of screenplay. Also on Saturday Nov. 7, you can see a different variety of movies at the Gubelman Theatre. These will also be shown during the afternoon on Sunday, Nov. 8. These titles include Breaking Through, Ghost Fish, My Ocean, Opal, The Man Who Fed His Shadow, The Rainforest, The Tree, and Wildlife.
About the Friday Harbor Film Festival
So, you’re thinking about going to the Friday Harbor Film Festival this year. Now what? Here are few basics that will answer some of your important questions! To see the films of your choice during the festival, be sure to plan your schedule ahead of time. Arrive at the venue at least a half hour before show time at the chosen venue, where your wristband will be checked or punch card will be punched. There will be two separate lines for these two forms of admission. An all-access wristband will include all films and the Opening Night Filmmakers’ Gala. Meanwhile, a punch card enables the holder to attend either 1,5,10, or 15 films and may be shared between a group of people. The punch cards can range from just $8 to $120, while the wristband is $135. You can purchase your tickets in person at the San Juan Community Theatre box office, Film Festival office, or online.
