People come and people go, and our inn is no exception to the movement of personalities. Last month we had to say goodbye to John Hamilton, who has accepted a position as Head Chef at a new venture in town, as yet to open. We also welcomed in his stead, Paul la Valley, who brings to the table his extensive experience in cooking at upscale resorts and fine dining establishments.
Paul absolutely loves cooking, and is just bursting with creativity. He is practically chomping at the bit to try out some of his ideas on the breakfast table, and is thrilled to have the opportunity to work with Head Chef Alphonsine at Coho Restaurant as well. Paul has lived on San Juan Island several years now, and understands how precious our environments is. He is dedicated to making Harrison House Suites and Tucker House the most eco-friendly inns on the island.
Joining us also is Sally Browne, another long-time island resident and former owner of a Friday Harbor souvenir shop. Sally will be greeting guests on the evening shift, but you can bet she’ll also be spiffing up our gift shop among other tasks.
