Westcott Bay Cider/San Juan Island Distillery Cider Apple Picking Party – October 6, 7

Families will get to experience the pleasure of helping owners Hawk & Susy Pingree pick the small and delicious bittersweet and bittersharp apples that grow in their beautiful orchard on Westcott Bay.  These are the apples that they use to make their prize-winning ciders – they are not good to eat!  They’lll have bins and a tractor in the orchard to help with the picking.  It’s fun for everyone — the apples come off the trees easily, children can help with the “grounders” and it’s a great way to experience a bit of farming and help them get the harvest in. They’ll  finish the day with a cider tasting at the Ciderworks after picking!  This fun event runs from noon to 3:00 p.m.
Saturday, October 6, and Sunday, October 7, 2012, Noon – 3:00 p.m. both days.
Westcott Bay Cider/San Juan Island Distillery, 12 Anderson Ln.
