NOUN
gift certificates (plural noun)
1. NORTH AMERICAN
a voucher given as a present that is exchangeable for a specified cash value of goods or services from a particular place of business.
Ahhhhh, let’s see. The above is not necessarily my definition but I suppose it will work. I like to describe a gift certificate as a GREAT!!! way to please a friend, family member, neighbor, team member, even your pet. That’s right, your pet. Because mine makes a mess trying to open gifts that are wrapped with paper and bows. A simple piece of paper that shows he can pick up his favorite toy from his favorite store works for the entire family.
Now let’s talk family, I don’t know what size my niece is, let alone my nephew. And if I want to try and guess what my BFF is missing in her closet, I could very well offend her with my taste. The pressure is out of control. Or I guess I make my own pressure by attempting the impossible.
Let’s talk success in my language. Pick an amount, pick a place and the pressure is off. Take the San Juan Island Inn Collection for instance. You can pull a “twofer”, you know, a two for one. Here is how it works. You purchase a gift certificate for any amount, whether it’s for the Tucker House Inn Bed and Breakfast, or the Harrison House Suites or even Coho Restaurant. You make sure your message is clear, full of heartwarming wishes and sincere gratitude towards the recipient. I bet if you play your cards right and you pick the right person for the certificate, i.e.: spousal unit, chances are you’ll be sharing that awesome experience. I know, I know, seems kind of selfish right? Not really, just a great chance to spend some quality holiday time with a loved one.
Feeling Relieved Yet?
With this special time heading our way in rapid speed, take the edge off and make one piece of paper matter. How about a king bed room with fireplace, balcony and flat screen television, did I mention a jacuzzi tub? Or, your very own rustic standalone cottage, fireplace, king bed, cozy kitchen which means breakfast delivery to your door each morning of your stay. I am being serious here. Plus, if you have some funds left over I totally encourage you to book a romantic table at Coho Restaurant for a quiet and intimate dinner for two. Complete with an amazing glass of wine from our wonderfully stocked wine cellar. Seriously, can you see how this could really be a win-win situation?
As I close my thoughts on this blog I really truly believe that my holiday shopping woes have disappeared. It is gift certificates for me regardless if your human or pet. Yikes! I can even make this easier. Pick up the phone and give us a call, we can e-mail your certificate or pop it in the mail. Happy Holidays everyone and sure hope we see you soon at the San Juan Island Inn Collection.
