Here at the Tucker House Inn & Harrison House Suites, we like to welcome our guests to their room every day with a plate of housemade cookies baked and delivered fresh each afternoon. Often our guests enjoy these treats so much, they’ll shyly ask if we would be willing to share the recipe. (The triple ginger cookies at Christmas time were a particularly popular request.) We love to share recipes both online and in person, so after we wrote up our chocolate chip cookie recipe for a recent guest, we though we might as well share it with everyone.
Tucker House Chocolate Chip Cookies
1 cup butter
1 1/2 cups packed brown sugar
1 egg
3 T cream
1 tsp vanilla extract
3 cups AP flour
1 1/2 tsp baking soda
1 tsp salt
3/4 cup chocolate chips
Whisk together dry ingredients and set aside.
Using a stand or hand mixer, cream butter and brown sugar together until fluffy.
Add eggs, cream, and vanilla extract and mix, scraping down the bowl halfway through. Add dry ingredients and mix until fully incorporated. Stir in chocolate chips.
Using a tablespoon cookie scoop or spoons, portion cookies and bake at 350 for 12-15 minutes, until edges are golden brown.
