Spring is officially here, and we can’t forget spring cleaning! Last year, tons of concerned islanders – over 200 – gathered together for the Great Island Clean-Up, helping to preserve the beauty that makes living here so wonderful.
2013’s clean-up collected over 3,600 pounds of litter! But there’s never an end to it, so grab a trash bag and pitch in. All residents – and visitors too! – are encouraged to participate. Grab as many friends as you can and make a fun game out of it!
The Clean-Up is being sponsored by many businesses and organizations, including the county and the town, San Juan Sanitation, Soroptomists, Lions, Kiwanis, Rotarians, Friends of the San Juans, and the chamber of commerce.
Free trash and recycling bags can be picked up at the chamber of commerce’s office.
