Grover Travels to Mount Young on San Juan Island

Grover likes to get out and about and one of his favorite trails on San Juan Island, is climbing his way up 650 feet to the top of Mount Young!

Along the way he gets to sniff the trunk of every Madrona, Oak and Fir Tree that he sees along the climbing path. He sometimes likes to stop along the way to catch his breath at the English Camp cemetery.  Grover loves to feel on top of the world when we reach the top! He sniffs the fresh air and gazes out to see several waterways, such as Mosquito Pass and Mitchell Bay.

The walk down is more leisurely and you can focus on the different songbirds or possibly spot a Bald Eagle perched in a tree.

To reach the trailhead start at the English Camp parking lot and follow the signs.

Happy Traveling!
