Lavender Hot Chocolate Recipe

Makes 5 servings

Vegetarian, Soy Free, Nut Free

Ingredients

2 1/2 cups whole milk

2 1/2 cups heavy cream or half and half

6 Tbsp unsweetened Dutch processed cocoa or other high quality cocoa

6 Tbsp sugar

1 tsp finely ground culinary lavender buds, more or
less to taste

1 pinch finely ground sea salt

1/2 tsp vanilla extract pinch cinnamon

Garnish Options:

whipped cream fresh orange zest cocoa powder cinnamon

mini chocolate morsels

Method

  • Heat milk in a large saucepan over medium low heat.
  • Whisk together cocoa powder, sugar, lavender, and salt in a quart bowl. Stir into milk and cook until sugar dissolves. Strain.
  • Add cream and continue to stir until heated through.
  • Stir in vanilla.
  • Divide into cups and top with desired garnishes.
