Lime Kiln State Park, San Juan Island

Each summer the City Cantábile Choir, directed by Fred West, conducts a “musical celebration of the environment” at Limekiln State Park on San Juan Island. This annual summer solstice event is dedicated to the recovery of the resident orca population.

The gathering begins at 6:30 and the concert at 7 pm. Conservation groups will be on hand to answer your questions and concerns about the health of the whales and the waters of the Salish Sea.

The event is free and family-friendly. A donation will be asked for to cover the expenses of the sound system and travel by the musicians.

Parking is very limited so please carpool; or, local bus transportation will be available to and from the Friday Harbor ferry landing bus stop. This 1/2 price special bus (only$5) will leave Friday Harbor at 6:00pm and is limited seating (21 seats). For more information regarding this shuttle, call San Juan Transit at 378-8887.
