Product Testing 101 with Susan

Woman holding a breakfast tray at the bottom of a set of stone stairs

Well now, I have discovered the most amazing way to add some pizazz to the world of hospitality. Product Testing. What a hoot! How do you know what your property has to offer? Test it out. I have been having an absolute blast checking out every inch of the San Juan Island Inn Collection. And you know, I’m not even close to being done. Everything from in room amenities to the wonderful gourmet breakfast served each day to our guests. Oh! And of course I can’t forget the in room jacuzzi tubs. Whew! It’s been a real chore, NOT!

Where Else Can I Product Test?

Along with the property itself, I must put the entire San Juan Island on my list. How can I recommend something to do if I have not experienced it myself? Oh, the trials and tribulations of the job. Again, I am smiling.

Food. Yum!

Dinning not only at our very own Coho Restaurant, but I must check out the other flavors of the island. Coffee, ice cream, freshly baked breads, fish and chips…..Oh my, I will have to really watch the old belt loop now. Good thing I can walk off any extra treats during my explorations through town.

Excursions? Yes, Please

Let’s talk hiking, biking, zip lining, whale watching, kayaking and visiting a camel. Where do I start? My itinerary is very big now, but my goals are totally attainable with some time, good weather, comfortable shoes and a good nutritional snack tucked in my backpack.

With the help of my silly little vlog I want to keep you all in the loop: Hospitality Vignettes with Susan. Eeeks! I think that was a plug. These vignettes will hopefully give you a glimpse of just a smidge of the exciting things you can do on San Juan Island. My goal is to take everything in that is possible and bring you along with me via my vlogs! Don’t worry, I am giving myself a lot of time to make this happen. I know the pressure will be great, but with the support of my team, I believe I can do it.

So, kidding aside, I am very excited to experience this Island one step at a time and one day at a time. Hopefully this will give you chance to pick out your favorite adventure to fit into your own Island experience.

Come Meet Me at the San Juan Island Inn Collection

Oh yes, when deciding where to stay while in Friday Harbor, take a look at the San Juan Island Inn Collection. I really believe we have something for everyone. Romantic couple getaway, family of 4,6, 8 and even 10. Dog owners, bike riders, kayak rowers, foodies, I can go on and on and on.

So in conclusion, I will say this: My job here has me busy for the entire season. Am I complaining? Heck no! Between meeting wonderful world travelers on a daily basis and engaging in interesting conversation as well as checking out all the 4-legged visitors, it is truly an amazing world I live in. Not forgetting my ongoing product testing. I say this, “Bring it on!”
