A Suite for Every Size and Service for Every Need

We would like to take a minute to explain what happens at 235 and 275 C Street. These are the homes of The San Juan Island Inn Collection, an umbrella organization that contains the Tucker House Inn and Harrison House Suites.

The Tucker House and Harrison House properties are a combination of three historic homes that reside on neighboring lots. In the backyard of each house there are cottages that converge onto our patio. Nearby there is also a porch nestled under our 100-year-old sequoia tree. Within each house you will find rooms that lend themselves to serve a wide diversity of needs. Here are a few examples.

The Wedding Party

Jenny and Doug came to visit us this summer for a very special occasion: to marry under our beautiful willow tree. For their honeymoon they decided on the spacious Four Winds Suite — the perfect retreat for a very special stay. Four Winds features a king size bed that resides in an enclave with French doors opening into a living room, a balcony that looks out over our grounds and the town of Friday Harbor, and a large luxurious bathroom with double Jacuzzi soaking tub.

The bride and groom’s guests booked many other rooms around the property. This allowed their party the ability to use a large kitchen, living room, and sunroom, along with many other cottages and suites to celebrate all weekend long. They held their rehearsal dinner in the living room of the San Juan Suite, which was catered by Island Events and catering, also a part of the Collection.  weddings at the tucker house Anna Maria, owner, head humming bird and planner, is a pro and works collaboratively with the  Inn’s Chef Jessica and Coho Restaurant’s Chef Ryan to tailor a menu to suit your taste, theme, and needs. Jenny and Doug had an amazing weekend and delicious dinner with their friends and family. The Tucker House was a busy hive all weekend long! We could feel the joy and excitement bubbling out through the neighborhood.

The Newly-Liberated Lady

Grace called to book a room with us for late summer. She explained that she would be celebrating the completion of selling her home where she had raised her family. This was going to be a vacation for to relax and reflect. Grace was traveling alone. She wanted to make sure that she would feel safe and secure. Our cozy upstairs under-the-eaves room, Amethyst Chain, filled all of these needs.

Nestled in the top floor of the Tucker House, Amethyst Chain features a queen size bed and a bathroom suited for a queen. When staying in this, or any of our Jacuzzi bed and breakfast suites, you will join other guests for breakfast in the Garden Room Café. This provides an excellent opportunity to check in with our innkeepers and connect with the other travelers. Grace reported that her Jacuzzi tub and our signature lavender bubble bath helped wash away her residual stress. She shared that her solo trip was the best gift she could have given herself.

The Devoted Inspirations

friday harbor suite Next up, Darlene and Phil visited us from New Hampshire to celebrate Phil’s 70th birthday. Phil had decided that with this birthday he was dedicating more time to his bucket list.  The first thing he wanted to cross off was seeing the beloved Orca Whales. Darleen called to book the room, drawn to our breakfast delivery service.

During their 40 years of marriage, Phil had made his wife breakfast almost every morning. Darleen felt it was her turn treat him like a king, so she chose our penthouse apartment, the Friday Harbor Suite. The couple used our concierge service to book different whale watching adventures each day of their visit. On Phil’s birthday, we delivered breakfast with a candle, smile, and understanding of how appreciative his wife was that they were still in love and supportive of each other after many years.  It is a real gift to our staff to be able to witness a life well-lived and a love well-suited.

The Family Reunion

The Hemphill family came to visit from four different states, all converging in Friday Harbor, the town where their father grew up. They make this pilgrimage every few years to visit the home where he was raised. We worked with the family and ended up choosing four different rooms on the property: Victoria’s Flower Garden, Goose in the Pond Cottage, Evening Star (a bed-and-breakfast room), and the Middleton Suite, which is one of our most ADA friendly rooms.

By including Victoria’s as a part of their booking, they were able to congregate and have breakfast together each morning in the large glass-encased sun porch.  The suite’s large kitchen comes equipped with flatware, dishes, and (most importantly) a large coffee maker and fresh, locally-roasted grounds. We enjoy having the opportunity to provide families with a place to connect and continue creating memories to last throughout their lives.

The team at The San Juan Island Inn Collection truly honors the opportunity to serve our guests to the best of our abilities. We enjoy taking time to understand the needs of you, from your dietary restrictions to deepest desires. Each of us takes pride in tying all of the details together and going the extra mile to make sure you have the best experience possible. We would love the opportunity to help you design your trip of a lifetime to San Juan Island.
